As I’m sure you all know already, water is an essential part of human life and staying hydrated is vital for a healthy body, clear complex and a more efficient metabolism. In order to take full advantage of the benefits of water, we need to drink enough to make sure we compensate the loss of it throughout the day.
- Find the right bottle for you
Since I’ve started using a bottle to drink water, I found out that I drink more than I used to and more litres than I did before. While using a glass makes you have to stand up, interrupt your work and go to the kitchen, a bottle can host a quantity that lasts longer and it can be easily taken everywhere and the tap makes it spill- proof. I use my bottle everywhere home, work, gym, walks and trips, it easily becomes part of your daily life and makes you drink more water.
- Know the alternatives
Fruit is a great source of water for your body ( watermelon consists of 90% water) and so are some vegetables, like cucumber, celery and tomatoes. Tea is another way to get hydrated and rip the benefits of the tea leaves as well. Smoothies, milk, soups, also contain enough water to refuel yourself.
- Spice it up
If you are one of the people that consider the taste of water bland, then try infusing your water with slices of lemon, cucumber, orange or grapefruit and spice it up with some mint or basil leaves or some slices of ginger. So fresh!
- Challenge your mates or use an app
Challenge your friends to drink the recommended amount of water each day, a little friendly competition will keep you motivated. Also, opt for one of the great apps out there, like Plant Nanny, that help you stay hydrated with reminders throughout the day.
