Everybody complains about being busy and not having time for themselves and I am definitely included in that group. However, I recently decided that the best thing for me and those around me is to stop complaining and start giving time to myself and Sundays seemed like the perfect days for a home spa day, a pampering session with me, myself and I without having to break the bank. It doesn’t even need to take that long, between one to two hours are just enough to enjoy some me- time, relax and leave the hustle and bustle of the week behind. That’s why Sundays are the perfect spa days you leave the worries of last week behind you and recharge for the coming week, feeling calmer and more prepared. Having a home spa doesn’t need to be complicated and it doesn’t require you to spend a lot of money on it. However, you will need to provide yourself with the right tools to create the perfect relaxing atmosphere for the soul and to make sure you’ve got some great products to pamper the body.
You will need:
Your favourite relaxing music or some natural tunes.
Some candles or incense.
A glass of wine to sip or some tea for a full detox effect.
A fluffy towel or comfortable bathrobe.
Extra tip: leave your phone out of the room!
Steps:
- Fill your bathtub with hot water and while the water is running add a few drops of your favourite relaxing oil, like chamomile, lavender or eucalyptus. The room will fill up with the calming scent and you will be immediately transported to your favourite spa.
- Before entering the tub, make sure to pamper your hair by spreading a conditioning oil over it, like coconut or almond oil or your favourite hair mask and wear a bath cup to let the product soak in.
- Enter the bathtub and relax. Sip on your tea or wine and just enjoy the moment. You can even drop a bath bomb, bubble bath cream or anything else you like to create the perfect relaxing atmosphere for you.
- As you are soaking in the hot water, try giving yourself a massage. Softly press your feet, legs arms and hands to release any tension in your muscles.
- Once you are out, exfoliate your skin for a healthy- looking and glowing effect and don’t forget to apply a nourishing body lotion to seal the moisture and let it be completely absorbed before you get dressed.
