The Spring Equinox is just around the corner and I couldn’t be more excited about it. This Sunday, 20th of March, we are entering officially into a fresh and hopefully sunnier season and I can’t wait to enjoy the longer days. March is a month of transformation and even if the cold temperatures of the Winter persist, we can already see the changes in nature all around us, just like the first flowers on the cherry trees. This Sunday is the perfect chance to embrace those changes and prepare for the new season ahead of us.
1. Bring home some blooms
Buy some flowers to decorate your bedside table, to wake up with their fresh scent or for your kitchen counter, to add a splash of color. Opt for some colorful seasonal blooms and make sure to choose non-toxic ones if you have a pet at home, like sunflowers, daisies and roses.
2. Make space for some green life
If you are not a flower fan, then a potted plant can transform your house like anything else. Try cacti or succulents that will purify your home’s air for you and add a lively splash of green without needed loads of maintenance time.
3. Spring Cleaning mode on
Choose a weekend morning to give your home the perfect Spring cleaning it so much needs. Grab some cleaning products, take down the curtains, wash your windows in and out and marvel at the difference all this makes to your home and mood.
4. Change your home scents
It’s time to leave behind the wintery scented candles or incense. Cinnamon, pumpkin or nutmeg are great for creating a warming atmosphere indoors, but Spring calls for fresh scents such as ginger, tobacco leaves, grass or eucalyptus.
5. Fabric update
If you are still wearing your dark woolen sweaters or you are sleeping with heavy knit blankets, consider swapping them with lighter and brighter options. Choose bright whites or funky greens instead of dark reds and blues and your home will feel instantly fresher and ready for Spring.
