I am definitely a coffee-holic and even in this moment I’m sipping my favorite cup of the bitter substance, that I cannot imagine waking up without. Coffee is a great pick- me- up and has shown to help lower the risks of diabetes, depression and some cancers. However, there are many others ways to energize your body in the morning that aren’t coffee. So if you are trying to cut back on your consumption or you simply can’t get used to its bitter taste in the morning, these are some ways to wake up and feel full of energy without coffee.
- Take a cold shower
I know that it might sound horrific to get under cold water the moment you woke up, but it’s just another habit. Try starting your shower with hot water and then lower its temperature gradually, finishing with cold water. The habit is said to relieve stress and makes you feel more alert.
2. Open the windows
Let the sunshine in and the breeze enter your home and refresh it. You will feel instantly fresher yourself and the noise of the life under your window will help you get ready for the day ahead.
3. Exercise or do some yoga
Go for a morning run or through your favorite yoga sequence. Exercise is known to release endorphins in your body that boost your mood and de- stress. Even if going out and jog is the last thing you want tot do in the morning, challenge yourself and you will feel the difference.
4. Try green tea
Green tea has less caffeine than coffee, but it’s a great substitute if you are into the habit of sipping something in the morning. Its health benefits are numerous as well, so brew some of it instead of your next cup of coffee.
