Everybody knows Mondays are hard and we never seem to be prepared enough for them, nor for the busy days ahead of it. Confused schedules, skipping meals or eating out (there was nothing in the fridge) and always having the feeling I forgot about something, were on my Monday schedule for a long time. This feeling of confusion combined with the feeling of getting back to work after a lazy Sunday, had been making my Mondays bluer than I wanted and I found myself wondering how this could change. So last month I made a small change on my Sundays, I would sacrifice 1-2 hours of my precious laziness to prep the week ahead of me and up to now this system has been working like a charm. So if you want to start feeling less blue or unprepared for the beginning of the week try this five tips to do on Sunday for the best Monday ever!
Make your weekly to do list and update your agenda.
I know I may be sounding like a list obsessed person, but I making a list really helps me concentrate on the things I have to do during the week and it makes sure I won’t forget a single thing! This way, I know exactly what I need to do each day, I am definitely more productive and I don’t spend time thinking what I should do next.
Go shopping and prep your meals and snacks.
You know that feeling when your fridge is empty on a Wednesday and you don’t have time to do grocery shopping or you are running from place to place with no time to prepare a meal, or that time when you are just to tired to cook so you order? They happen to all of us, all the time. Giving yourself a bit of time on a Sunday to go shopping and prep your meals for the week will save you both money and time and will help you eat healthier.
Put your closet in order.
If you are one of those people who, like me, end up with a pile of clothes next to their bed by the end of the week and spend too much time everyday trying to figure out what to wear (true story), then Sunday is the day to figure this all out. Put your clothes back in the closet, check the weather report and plan your outfits for the week, it will save you loads of time and frustration!
Clean around and take out the trash.
You don’t want to start the week in a dirty house. Do a quick hoovering around and take out the trash, so you won’t have to worry about that during the week. Put on some music and get it done!
Prepare your breakfast for Monday.
Take some time to prepare yourself a hearty breakfast for the next day. It will help you get up with a smile and looking forward to the day ahead.
