Happy February everyone!
A month has passed since the beginning of this new exciting year and there are so many things I want to do, to try and to experience. My bucket list is getting longer and longer, but there is one thing that keeps coming up- travelling. Oh, there is nothing like visiting new places, learning about different cultures and trying unique food! However, between work responsibilities and budget restrictions, many of us feel that we can’t travel as much as we would like to. At a first glance, travelling often might seem hard, or even impossible, if you are trying to limit your expenses. Fortunately, this is not entirely true. With the right organisation and mindset, there are ways to travel more while spending less. If you, like me, are a traveling soul on a budget, read on!
Choose the right destination for you.
Doing your research before buying those tickets, is key to spending less on your trip. Choose your destination wisely by choosing counties that their currency gives you a foot- up in terms of budgeting or that are inexpensive to travel in. You can also go for shorter trips within your country and discover new places without having to travel far or spending money on plane tickets.
Book early and save more.
Plan your trips ahead, especially if you are planning to travel abroad. Take an agenda, find out when the public holidays are and by calculating your leave days, try to combine them in the best way. Knowing when you can travel will help you saving big money on tickets by booking ahead and finding the best deals.
Sharing is caring.
Companies like BlaBlacar, Uber, AirBnB and CouchSurfing, all use the sharing economy to provide services to travelers on a budget, by giving you more options on travelling and accommodation. Don’t be afraid to experiment with them, it will help you save money and you might even make new friends!
